Closed: these institutions were formerly licensed or registered by the Office of Higher Education but are now closed.
Open: these institutions are open but have had one or more changes to their name.
Open exempt: there are three types of institutions in this category. (1) Institutions that were formerly licensed or registered by the Office of Higher Education but currently offer programs not requiring licensing or registration under Minnesota law. (2) Institutions that are open but are legally exempt from licensure or registration under Minnesota law. (3) Institutions that are open but licensed by other Minnesota state agencies.
